Aker Systems are a fast growing technology business. They build and operate ground-breaking, ultra-secure cloud-based data infrastructure for government and enterprise level clients.
The pace of their growth has introduced some key challenges. In particular, the recruitment and induction of high quality staff, and the need to reposition and develop the brand to reflect their new status and size.
Working with Verse
We designed a new website and an integrated learning platform.
We worked strategically with the senior management team to brand the business and it's suite of technology products. The company now communicates its highly technical offering with improved clarity and meaning.
A key element of the new website is an enhanced careers section that helps make Aker highly attractive to talented staff. We produced 2 compelling videos that tell a story of what it's like to work at Aker and the company's core purpose and values. A new third-party HR system was seamlessly integrated to promote job opportunities and track candidate applications. And the communication of the employee value proposition was enlivened with concise crisp copy and authentic staff photography.
We also built a dedicated blended learning platform. It combines self-paced training with over 30 mentor managed projects that allow students to apply their learning in a real-world environment. The training course is offered for free by Aker to anyone who would like to learn to be a DevOps engineer. As well as developing practical skills, the course acts as a recruitment magnet with the highest performing students automatically offered job interviews.
The new site and learning platform have played a key role in Aker's ongoing success. The business has won several new government and commercial customers on the back of their brand reputation and unique service capability. They are on track to double their annual revenue within the space of 2 years.
